THEY TOO ARE THE EARTH

See! They too are the earth:
The sun has bleached their skins
Injecting in them darker pigments,
Suffering signals.
They are the earth,
They are born of African soil..
..
But the earth has denied them.
Does stone swallow stone?
But this stone does.
Does earth swallow earth?
But this earth does;
Those who have and cannot tender
Are stones that eat one.
Those who hold but cannot render
Are earth that eat one.
They too are the earth
Let them not die
Let them not die
Like they are not the earth.

What freedom is more painful than   Eye balls without sights; faith without work like To walk on a spot;                    Mountains tied to your legs   While eyes go dark                    As you walk unmoving: In a place surrounded by light;            What a freedom!
