There was once a pastor

There was once a pastor,
a strong one as I was told.
Not to young, not too old
In spirit and God he was bold:
he would pray till it was cold.
There was once a pastor.
A strong one as I was told.

In the world he was the best
he never prayed without a fast.
Demons with heads he would cast
people ran to him with cash fast,
but he would say God's the first.
Only faith is what you need to rest
but not long he fell at last
that fall was a great blast.
There was once a pastor,
a fallen one as I was told.

That fall was so great
that it sealed his fate.
He fell for a woman's tent,
she was such a devil's sent
she seduced him and like pet
he succumbed to her threat.
He jumped on her to have a taste;
two nights and a day, they slept
together till his faith was rent.
There was once a pastor,
a deceived one I was told.

When he realised his mistake,
he wept for eating such a cake.
He thought of what he broke,

His spirit in soul was now a fake.
Judas' path he thought to take.
That life which was once awake,
His life he planned to stake
there was once a pastor
a naive one as I was told.

But God the pastor of all
the great king that can't fail
pitied him and made him fall
from that tree to save his soul
from hanging like a long pole.
God said, he was such a fool.
To think death as a final role.
There was once a pastor,
a thoughtless one as I was told.

He untied his rope
and he had a hope.
He shouted like an ape
beating his chest for reshape.
For the devil made him rape
all his journey in a map.
God washed him with soap,
off all his sinful grape.
There was once a pastor
a clean one I was told.

Your life not a devil's meat
thrown to fire when angel's meet
but to sit well in God's mercy seat.
If your life is still full of sin,
and think death as an only scene,
please repent like the pastor did
and confess with God's holy creed.
God seeks no evil deed,
or the death of a sinner his joy
but to see us in his grace to enjoy
the place he planted in his realm
for people who will confess him
as king and saviour of them.
There was once a human
a redeemed one am sure to see.

TIED TO FREEDOM by Mide Benedict

Don’t hold me down L ike I’m in some cave Just like a bird flies Where nothing breathes light Through a hidden dark sky L ike an existence lost in inexistence, Locked up in a bottle     T hat only lives every day in an every minute coffin Tightened with an unbreakable cover.    Free me I said, but you brought me this! What freedom is more painful than   Eye balls without sights; faith without work like To walk on a spot;                    Mountains tied to your legs   While eyes go dark                    As you walk unmoving: In a place surrounded by light;            What a freedom!
