HOW STAYING INDOORS MAY CHANGE YOUR LIFE by Mide Benedict

You know people make it look as if your world is in shreds when you stay indoors; they may not care about what you do when you're within the confine of your home, they may not care what you need it for, whether that's the only thing that makes you sane, they may not know what in there, behind that your most precious door you adore, all they know is; your life sucks, and they say it even when they don't.

Suddenly you begin to feel the heat of their words around your head like a piece of feather kept close to fire to be pampered by the odour of its own shrinking skin, you begin to drown in that assumption that whether they are right, whether your life is a pale of dung left in a room, locked up to smell to itself, you then one time decided to leave the house, you know, to feel what other people felt and hear what other people heard that makes then sing aloud and say, hosanna to their highness, then you discover, you don't flow along with their ideology, that their world sucks too like their fingers point to yours and then you end up at the conclusion, that whatsoever they look for outside or derive from being on the street is actually behind your door making you happy; just that what they think is your comfort zone is the other side of the same coin.

Here is what people don't know, your comfort zone is not being out there, moving with people, it is doing what makes you too comfortable with yourself by avoiding what will make you really feel comfortable in the long run. It's allowing yourself the love of being constrained by your restraints. It is always about you, not about how others feel and it's not just about being too comfortable, rather it's being too comfortable with what will later give you discomfort.

If staying indoors help you prepare for your dream, then remain there and build it, only that one day, you'll still be out there, perhaps to go beyond your there to your here, but it's a process, it works with time: if you miss the first part then the second part will not be materialistic and your first part may just be staying indoors, but if not, then go out there and smash it.

But trust me, if your staying indoors yields nothing for you or the society, or your going out only makes you clueless of yourself and your dream, then it may just be another comfort zone.

  • However, whatever it may ever be, don't let others dictate your life, they may advice, but not dictate. The only one with that power is you; use it, don't eat their Jacob's pottage.

TIED TO FREEDOM by Mide Benedict

Don’t hold me down L ike I’m in some cave Just like a bird flies Where nothing breathes light Through a hidden dark sky L ike an existence lost in inexistence, Locked up in a bottle     T hat only lives every day in an every minute coffin Tightened with an unbreakable cover.    Free me I said, but you brought me this! What freedom is more painful than   Eye balls without sights; faith without work like To walk on a spot;                    Mountains tied to your legs   While eyes go dark                    As you walk unmoving: In a place surrounded by light;            What a freedom!
