NEGLIGENCE by Mide Benedict

If those who should know, know
There will be no need to agitate
If those who should feel, feel

There will be no need for tearing of clothes
If those who should feed, feed
There will be no need to drink down my tears.
My cheeks are swollen; they intimidate the water melon,
My eyes are red; they intimidate the blood in my veins.
No one knows what should have been known.
