IT'S ONLY TIME by Mide Benedict

Periods of odds will pass awayLeaving you to keep smiling and highly gay

Spoken and broken are your words
Shattered and battered, your worlds
Blunt, cannot hunt your self-esteem
It emits dying heat, your joyful steam
Faints like beaten saints, your great talent
But don't be caught and don't relent
Shed not tears in bed, don't be iced!
Become not some cloth that is ragged
Rise and be no mouse with running heart-beat
Very soon, you'll like the sour cherry become sweet
Periods of odds will pass away
Leaving you to keep smiling and highly gay

It's only time before you become what will come; relent not....

In fact, many wanted to have her as something; be it wife, mistress or whatever just to have a taste of her, but the more they spoke to her, the more she ...

Mute by Mide Benedict

That Friday, everyone was spitless, yet it felt as if we spoke all at once in fading tones. Adiza, Halimat's sister wore it differently, her eyes, blood red, her tongue, twisted. Mine was twisted too. Halimat laid right there, silent and unmoving; each gaze at her drove tears out of my eyes.
